Morning: Horseback Ride Through Pululahua Crater
We begin our day by meeting at the base of the Pululahua Crater. Our expert guides will give a brief horseback riding lesson, ensuring that even beginners feel confident on the ride. The horses are well-trained and perfect for families.
The journey starts with an exploration of the crater’s rim, where you'll pass through lush green fields, ancient farming terraces, and enjoy stunning views of volcanic peaks and valleys. The scenery is truly breathtaking as we make our way through the heart of this ancient volcanic landscape.
Mid-Morning: Exploring Endemic Forests
Next, we venture deeper into the crater, riding through endemic forests filled with unique plants and wildlife. The peaceful atmosphere offers ample opportunities for nature photography and simply enjoying the beauty of Ecuador’s natural environment.
Afternoon: Visit to the Natural Spring
After our exploration, we’ll ride towards a natural spring nestled in the crater, where you can relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings. The cool, refreshing spring water and the surrounding views provide the perfect setting for a peaceful moment in nature.
Late Afternoon: Visit to La Mitad del Mundo Monument
After our horseback adventure, we will head to the La Mitad del Mundo monument, located just outside Quito. Here, you’ll stand on the famous equator line and learn about the history and significance of Ecuador’s location at the center of the Earth. It’s a unique cultural experience, and the monument provides excellent photo opportunities with its iconic yellow line dividing the northern and southern hemispheres.
We’ll also have some time to explore the area, visit the Intiñan Museum, and enjoy a bit of Ecuadorian culture before concluding the tour.
