Morning: Ride to the Summit by Cable Car
We begin the day by taking the unique cable car that will take us to the top of Ruku Pichincha. This exhilarating ride offers stunning views of Quito, the Andes mountains, and the surrounding volcanoes. From the top, you'll be ready to start your trekking adventure in one of Ecuador’s most impressive volcanic landscapes.
Mid-Morning: Begin the Trek on Ruku Pichincha
Once at the summit, we will begin our trek through the rugged terrain of Guagua Pichincha. The route takes us across the volcanic slopes, with spectacular views of the city of Quito, Cotopaxi volcano, and the Pichincha range. As you walk along the well-maintained trails, you’ll experience the raw beauty of the Andean mountains and the area’s unique volcanic vegetation.
Afternoon: Scenic Views and Volcano Exploration
During the trek, we’ll explore the volcanic craters and rocky terrain of Guagua Pichincha. From the top, the view of Quito stretching out below, with its surrounding mountains and volcanoes, is simply breathtaking. On clear days, you can even catch sight of Cotopaxi, one of Ecuador’s most famous and active volcanoes.
The hike will lead you through fascinating landscapes, offering amazing photo opportunities and a chance to truly connect with the natural beauty of Ecuador’s highlands. Late Afternoon: Return Trek and Panoramic Views
After reaching the summit, we will return down the mountain, taking in the panoramic views of the volcanic peaks, Quito, and the surrounding landscapes. The trek back will provide a final chance to experience the beauty of Guagua Pichincha before we return to our starting point.
