8-Day Bird Watching Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Quito
Evening arrival and transfer to nearby accommodations; enjoy the charm of South America's second-highest capital.
Day 2: Zuroloma Reserve and Guaycapi Lodge
Birdwatch in Zuroloma’s temperate forest for hummingbirds, antpittas, and tanagers before traveling along the scenic Ecoroute to Guaycapi Lodge.
Days 3 & 4: Guaycapi Lodge
Explore the reserve’s trails and Ecoroute for mixed flocks, toucans, quetzals, and owls while enjoying top-notch feeders and scenery.
Day 5: Sachatamia Lodge and Mashpi Amagusa
Visit the Paz de las Aves Refuge for antpittas and Cock-of-the-rock, followed by birdwatching and a stay at Mashpi Amagusa Lodge.
Days 6 & 7: Mashpi Amagusa Lodge and Sacha Guatusa Reserve

Day 8: Return to Quito/Puembo
